This course will expand your diving knowledge and experience level and will teach you to consider the safety and well being of other divers, as well as making you more confident in taking care of yourself.
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and to manage dive emergencies. Many divers say this is the best course they’ve ever taken. The minimum age to begin the Rescue Diver Course is 12 years old You must be least (Junior) Adventure Diver with the Navigation Adventure Dive You must have taken a recognised CPR and First Aid Course (See EFR Course details below) in the past 24 months. The course takes 3 days to complete, plus some self-study There are 10 Rescue Exercises and 2 Rescue Scenarios for you to master for certification As you would expect from such a serious course, the Rescue Diver Course can be physically demanding and very tiring, but it thouroughly prepares you should you ever find yourself in a recue situation.
The Rescue Courses covers: Self-rescue and diver stress Emergency management and equipment Panicked diver response In-water rescue breathing protocols Egress (exits) with an injured or unconscious diver Dive accident scenarios
Day 1 starts when you meet at the classroom to review your Knowledge Reviews with your Instructor. We will make sure you have a full understanding of the important safety concepts covered on the course before moving on to the practical skills.
After lunch you will watch the PADI Rescue Diver Course DVD, which introduces you to the Rescue Exercises you will need to learn for the course. On day 2 the fun really begins when we take you on the boat to a nice easy dive site where we put into practise what you learned in the classroom and watched on the DVD. We are the only dive school on the island that goes on the boat for 2 days during the Rescue Course, but we feel that to learn the skills properly you are better learning them in the environment you are most likely to use them - on a dive boat and in the sea - not in a swimming pool or off the beach next to your resort!! We will cover all 10 rescue exercises so you will be completely prepared for what comes tomorrow. The final day of the course is also spent on the boat, where you will put into practise all of the skills you have learned on the course so far during 2 Rescue Scenarios. We will test you throughout the day by making sure that many things happen that shouldn't - missing divers, divers with unexplained medical symptoms that need your help and anything we can think of to help you use your newly learned skills and to help you become a better Rescue Diver. EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE The Emergency First Response Course is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver Course, unless you have completed a recognised CPR / First Aid Course in the past 24 months.
Emergency First Response covers CPR and first aid training and gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies -not just in the diving world, but in your every day world with your family, friends, neighbours and coworkers. The EFR Course teaches you the skills you need to learn in a relaxed and fun way, which should help reduce your stress and anxiety levels and make the skills easier for you to remember should you ever need to put them to use.
The Emergency First Response courses cover: CPR for adults, children and infants First aid for adults, children and infants Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
The Emergency First Response course is available to divers or non-divers, however it is mandatory for PADI Rescue Divers. MASTER SCUBA DIVERThe PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest non professional level in the PADI System of diver education. To become a Master Scuba Diver shows a passion and committment to be the best diver you can possibly be, to live the dive lifestyle and explore the underwater world and go places and see things you have never experienced.
