Divemaster

Divemaster training at The Dive Academy is overseen by an experienced PADI Master Instructor who also assists on many of our IDC Programs. You can be sure that your training will be to the highest possible standard and will thoroughly prepare you to either work as a Divemaster or to move on to the IDC, whatever you plan to do. 

The Divemaster course is a 4-6 weeks internship program and  introduces candidates to supervisory situations with student divers and certified divers.

A Divemaster’s problems may not always be safety related – they may include customer service, business or operational challenges. The knowledge you gain from the course will help you with the choices and decisions you make.

The Divemaster Course is divided into 3 sections: Knowledge Development, where you learn more about diving theory;  Waterskills and Stamina exercises to prove your fitness for diving; and Practical Application sessions give you hands on experience of dealing with actual diving problems that occur. There is a large amount of self-study involved as well as plenty of diving!!

PADI Professionals are in demand all around the world, wherever there is diving.  PADI Divemaster’s work as dive guides in some of the most amazing dive destinations, including Liveaboards and Exotic Tropical Islands, as well as having opportunities to work part or full time in diving in their local area. Whatever direction you decide to take, their will always be fantastic adventures waiting and we will be happy to help you get there!!
