There are many different activities you can try other than Scuba Diving that will help you enjoy your holiday on Samui. Take a look at some of the links below and if you would like more detailed information about any of them just ask. As you will guess by the name, Tropical Murphys is an Irish owned and managed bar in Chaweng, offering an excellent range of Thai and European food and a range of imported beers including Kilkenny and John Smiths.
As well as the good food and drink, Murphy's is one of the top spots on the island to watch live music every night, with amazing bands from Phillipines, Thailand and occasionally Britain. Also, all major sports events, including all Premiership Football matches, are shown live!! The best craic on the island!! Kia Ora Catamaran Charters offers exclusive sailing cruises around the island. You can choose the privacy of a Private Charter and have the boat to yourself for a fun party at sea with your friends or for the ultimate romantic experience for two, or join with other guests and enjoy luxury, relaxing cruises in the seas around Samui. Does it get any better than this?
The BBC Restaurant is located next to the entrance to the famous Big Buddha on the north of Koh Samui. Recently rebuilt, BBC is one of the most stunning restaurants on the island and provides some of the best sunset views too.
It offers a wide selection of excellent European and Thai food and with the amazing, picturuesque location it is an ideal location for a romantic honeymoon dinner of for families or large groups to enjoy. Chicken breast in yellow curry sauce is a good choice! The Shack Bar & Grill is located in the picturesque Fishermans Village area of Bophut. The Shack has justifiably built the reputation as being the best little steak house on the island.
The mouth watering menu includes the most amazing ribs, fantastic barbeque steaks, lamb and seafood and we can personally recommend the Garlic Butter Prawns for your starter!! Say hello to Larry, the owner, who is always good fun to have a chat to and tell him Paul & Sarah said "Hi". Buy Larry a glass of Red Wine and you will gain a friend for life!!
The Jungle Club is a resort set high in the hills overlooking Chaweng. It has probably the best views anywhere on the island and is the perfect place to spend the day relaxing and getting away from the crowds - thats why it is a favourite spot with Samui residents on their day off!! The staff are friendly, if not a little crazy, and the food they offer is fantastic.
Any trip to Koh Samui will be made that little bit more special with a trip to the Jungle Club. Ocean 11's beach location is only one of the many reasons it has been listed as one of Samui's best resaurants for the past 2 years. Ocean 11 is situated in the village of Ban Rak, 5 minutes from Bophut and about 15 minutes from Chaweng. You can literally dine beneath the stars at the beachfront tables. The menu is predominantly Mediterranean with a good selection of Thai food, all of which is excellent and along with the fantastic wine list helps make Ocean 11 a restaurant you should definetly pay a visit to while you are on Koh Samui. Chicken Medallions to start can't be beaten!!
Samui Dog Rescue Centre is not the most fun place you will visit on the island, but if you are a dog or cat lover it is somewhere you should definitely go to see. The guys at the rescue do the most amazing job and hundreds of dogs, and more recently, cats have been saved because of the selfless work they do.
Click on the link to read some of the stories about animals they have helped and if you can help by visiting, volunteering or donating please do - these guys are worth every penny you can manage. 100 baht of every t-shirt or polo shirt we sell is donated to SDRC. Thanks
