Your Instructor will review your Knowledge Reviews with you to make sure you have a good understanding of what you need to know before going into the swimming pool and open water. This all gives you a better understanding when you dive of what is happening and why! Watching the Open Water DVD is a PADI requirement and is definitely an added benefit to the students learning. We normally break for lunch around 1pm returning about an hour later to show you how to set up your equipment. padi-open-water-course-skill-circuitIf you are completing PADI e-Learning all you need to do when you arrive at our dive centre is to complete the paperwork and a quick theory review to confirm your theory understanding. You will be surprised how much you progress and learn during your pool session. The day usually finishes around 5pm. If you are completing the course by the 3 1/2 day option on day 2 we complete the remaining theory in the classroom and we usually finish around 1pm. These are typical schedules but can be subject to change. nudibranch-koh-taoOn day 3, or 2 with the e-learning option, we take you on one of our speedboats “Midnight Blue” to the beautiful island of Koh Tao, which is about 1 hour 20 minutes away, where there are some fantastic bays which are ideal for training with clear blue water and lots of marine life for you to see. We make one dive in the morning, have lunch on the boat or on the beach, then move the boat to a second dive site and dive again in the afternoon. On day 4 or 3 with the e-learning we either return to Koh Tao or go to the amazing Sail Rock where we complete the final two dives of the course to a maximum depth of 18m. Which dive sites we go to depends on how comfortable the student is and what the conditions are like at that particular time. We usually return from Koh Tao around 3-3.30pm and from Sail Rock around 1pm.
